  3. If I placed an item on hold that hasn't come in yet at Hagerstown, where will I be able to pick it up?

Please contact any WCFL library and ask a staff member to change the location where you will pick up your hold item.  After November 9th you may pick it up at any branch or at the temporary North Pointe (18739 North Pointe Dr.) or Downtown (59 W. Washington St.) locations, but not at Hagerstown (100 S. Potomac Street).

  4. If I check out material from Hagerstown now, will it be due while the building is closed?

No material (that is checked out from the Hagerstown Library) will be due while we are closed. Any books and audio books checked out at the Central Library starting Oct. 19 will not be due until Nov. 16. DVDs and other items with shorter borrowing times will follow the same pattern; nothing will be due from November 9-15th. This does not apply to materials checked out at the other Washington County Library branches. As always though, library materials may be returned to any WCFL branch library.

  5. Will there be WiFi available at the temporary locations?
Yes, there will be WiFi available at the Downtown location and the North Pointe location. For more information see our Internet Access page for access and usage policies.

  6. Where will the new library be located?

The new central library will be located at the same site at 100 S. Potomac Street in Hagerstown. Construction is expected to be completed in the fall of 2012.
