Getting Information
We're here to help you find whatever information you need. Contact us by phone at 301-739-3250 ext. 123, by email, or in person at the Information Desk whenever the library is open.
The Washington County Free Library is also a Member of AskUsNow! a state-wide reference service where you can ask questions and get information 24 hours a day.
Using a Computer
We provide 12 public computers with free internet access at the Central Branch. Two of the terminals can be used for half an hour, the others for one hour. Each patron can use a computer once per day. For details and policies, click here. We also have a free in-house WiFi connection -- bring your laptop and connect for as long as you like!
The Library subscribes to dozens of databases where you can find information, from auto repair or genealogy to health or business. Click here for a full list.
Finding Good Books
Our Reader’s Corner links you to many web resources where you can find the perfect book, based on your interests, your favorite authors, or your favorite genre.
If you would like to get a book but all of our copies are checked out, contact the Information Desk – we can place a hold for you or request it from another library. If you’d like to do it yourself, connect to our catalog and sign in using your library card and pin.
