PT Library Security Guard

The Washington County Free Library has an immediate opening for a part-time (15 hours per week) security guard.  We are seeking a responsible, experienced security person to ensure the safety and security of the Library’s building and grounds for use by staff, patrons, and visitors. Duties include (job description is attached): Patrols all areas of Central Library building, parking lots, and access ways, and secures staff parking lot at end of work day. Patrolling in public areas to keep order. Prepares reports as necessary regarding security concerns. Must be flexible. Must be able to pass criminal background check.

Security guard, police or youth protective service work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Job consists of periods of walking and routine exposure to minimal levels of heat, cold, moisture such as those encountered in general outdoor conditions. The position may require lifting of moderately heavy items, up to 40 pounds and/or very long periods of walking on a routine basis.

              Weekly Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 5-9 PM; Saturday, 10 to 1 PM
