11-hour Boonsboro Branch Library Assistant I


The Washington County Free Library has an immediate opening for an 11- hour position for our Boonsboro Branch Library.   Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, scheduling flexibility and excellent customer service skills both with the public and staff.  Perform routine clerical work such as alphabetical and numerical filing, computer data entry, programming and other duties as assigned.

Duties include: Working at the public service desk checking in and checking out books and other material to customers.  Desired qualifications: Demonstrated experience showing self-motivation, RELIABILITY, detail oriented and good communication skills.  Clerical, computer and customer service skills.  Possess a valid Driver’s License.  Able to handle full book boxes, lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

COVID work schedule: Monday, 10-2; Wednesday, 3-6 and Friday 9-1

Regular work hours: Monday, 10-2; Wednesday, 3-6 and Saturday 10-2

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.  Some standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, and handling, pushing, and pulling. Pushing and pulling objects weighing 60-80 pounds, on wheels. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
