Children's Library Associate I (P-T) Smithsburg Branch Library

Library Associate I – 20 hrs. /wk., Monday and Wednesday 10-7 and Saturday, 10-2 PM at the Smithsburg Branch Library of the Washington County Free Library.  Duties include: Planning and carrying out Toddler/pre-school programs every Saturday.  Community outreach, library duties and responsibilities as assigned.  KSA: BA degree.  Experience in programming, basic computer skills; excellent oral and written communication skills, a positive interpersonal style, ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong organizational skills; ability to communicate a positive library image; flexibility and initiative.  May be asked to work outside of assigned duties.  Must be able to secure certification by the MD State Department of Education as a Library Associate within 24 months following appointment, which requires 90 contact hours of approved in-service training through Library Associate Training institure (LATI).
