The Washington County Free Library in Hagerstown, MD is seeking a FT- Reference Librarian I for the Adult Services Dept. located at 100 S. Potomac Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740. This position includes excellent benefits package. Benefits include health, vision and dental insurance, vacation, sick, and personal leave and retirement benefits through the State of Maryland.  Hours may vary and will include some daytime and evening hours, some Saturdays, and occasional Sundays.  Successful candidate must be public service oriented and knowledgeable about the latest library trends and services.  Requirements: Master of Library Science from an ALA accredited institution.  General knowledge of professional library principles, procedures, materials, and good knowledge of books and authors.  Ability to communicate clearly, orally, in writing, and in a classroom setting.  Must have strong computer skills, a positive interpersonal style; ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong organizational skills; strong ability to adjust to change; flexibility and initiative.  Must be eligible for MD library certification.
