Williamsport Library Branch Manager (F-T)

The Washington County Free Library in Hagerstown, MD is seeking a FT Branch Manager (Library Associate II) to staff its Williamsport Memorial Branch Library.  This FT position includes working some evenings; must be flexible. Includes medical, dental, vision and retirement plan benefits.  Successful candidate must be dedicated, service-oriented professional able to organize, direct and supervise the activities and workings of the Williamsport Memorial Branch Library (area pop. 2,073) to meet the informational and educational needs of that community. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be able to adapt quickly to change and work through frequent interruptions; is a creative problem-solver and effectively communicates.   Must provide excellent customer service,  lead in implementing innovative programs, supervise staff, and establish working relationships with the community and the Williamsport Memorial Library Board of Trustees, staff and library users.  Coordinate the building maintenance with the Town of Williamsport. Supervisory experience, working with children, teens and social networking preferred.  Reports to the Head of County Services for the Washington County Free Library system.

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree.   Must secure MD Certification within 2 years of appointment. General knowledge of professional library principles and procedures.
