Dear Washington County Free Library customers,

As a trusted community resource, the health and safety of our customers and staff are of utmost importance to us. WCFL is following the advice of our federal, state, and local public health officials, as well as other institutions of education in Maryland, in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Library Branches Closed: At this time, all WCFL branches will be closed to the public effective Friday, March 13 at 12 PM with a tentative reopening date of Saturday, March 28. We are postponing due dates for materials due from March 13 through March 27 to be due back Saturday, March 28. Stay updated on our website and Facebook page for news about any changes, updates about postponed events, and more.

eContent: We encourage you to explore the library’s eLibrary, including e-books and e-audiobooks; streaming TV, movies, and music; and digital subscriptions to research databases and magazines. These services are available using your WCFL library card.

Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date through the Washington County Health Department, Maryland Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

We realize the impact this decision has on our customers and staff.  We appreciate your understanding in wanting to keep all members of this community safe.

Sincerely,

Jenny Bakos
