These programs are presented by FutureMakers, the Maryland State Library, the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (LBPH), and the Rural Maryland Council (RMC). 

Straw Structure City

Use common straws and special connectors to build a three dimensional grid that grows! Create a structure from lines, shapes and forms that can grow taller than you. This program will help children explore science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics using accessible design, especially those with visual disabilities.

 

Beeping Circuits

Make a circuit that beeps and buzzes without using wires! Explore the conductive nature of materials, and learn how to create a simple circuit on paper! This program will help children explore science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics using accessible design, especially those with visual disabilities. 

 

Sound Boxes

Can a box be a guitar? Explore how elastic materials can be combined with hollow shapes to amplify vibration into sound! This program will help children explore science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics using accessible design, especially those with visual disabilities.

 

These program are for ages 5-10 years and children must be accompanied by an adult.
