It's time again for Washington County Free Library's Annual Poetry & Short Story Writing Contest!
The contest includes five age divisions: grades 2-3, grades 4-5, grades 6-8, grades 9-12, and adult.
- Entrants must be a resident of Washington County, MD or have a valid Washington County Free Library card.
- Writers may enter up to two poems & one short story. Poems may be up to one page in length per poem. Short stories may be up to 1,200 words in length. All entries must be original work and may be on any topic. All entries must include author name, age division, address, phone number, and email if available.
- No email submissions accepted.
- Keep a copy of your work as originals will not be returned.
- There will be first, second, and third place winners for each division.
- Winners will be announced at www.washcolibrary.org.
Entries may be submitted between January 1 and March 15, 2021 to any library branch throughout the county or they may be mailed to:
