WHILBR Call for Photos

Man in a mask sitting outside next to a small dog and call for photos in white text box below

Western Maryland Regional Library, through its history website at digital.whilbr.org is planning to document Western Maryland 's experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are hoping to collect your photographs of how the pandemic has affected your daily life and community.

Now is the time to record the effect of the pandemic in Allegany, Garrett and Washington Counties, Maryland. Visual images capture documentary details and creative responses that are not easily conveyed through words. Please help us create a diverse collection that can assist future generations in understanding the impacts of COVID-19.

We invite you to contribute photographs using the form labeled Contribute or going to https://sites.google.com/view/thepandemicinwesternmaryland/contribute . We are looking for photographs of activities in our three counties taken by county residents. Possible topics could be masks, social distancing, thanks for the emergency and hospital workers among others. You could include photos of caring for others, distance learning, new kinds of jobs and daily routines that have changed. We are looking for pictures that capture how COVID 19 has impacted your community in all of its uncertainty, grief, hope and gratitude.
