*PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR FUNDRAISER HAS BEEN CANCELED FOR THE SAFETY AND HEALTH OF OUR LIBRARY SUPPORTERS.*

Trivia Night, the library’s major annual fundraising event, is being held at the Washington County Free Library Fletcher Branch in downtown Hagerstown on Saturday, April 18, 2020. This year’s event will be inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland with themed activities and performers! The evening features a trivia challenge with teams competing for the title ‘WCFL Trivia Champions 2020.’ Trivia will feature questions about literature, movies, sports, history, and more! Enter your team of up to six people into the contest at the event! We invite everyone to enjoy a variety of activities available this evening—photo ops, a ‘punch wall’ with prizes, and more. Enjoy an evening out with great food, drinks, company, and trivia to support your local library! Come dressed for the theme or just as you are.

Tickets for the event are $30 for a ticket or $50 for two tickets. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door. Ages 21 and over, please.

Your library is a primary component of the educational infrastructure of our community supporting learning at all stages of life and levels of literacy. Your library serves as an integral part of the local workforce infrastructure by providing classes in financial, computer and digital literacy and space for adult educational classes. As a vital civic resource, your library supports workforce development not only through our educational classes but also through collaboration with community organizations, both public and private to promote jobs and economic development through information sharing. As a leading provider of self-directed learning, your library offers ongoing classes and humanities programming that encourages creativity, critical thinking, cultural understanding and acceptance.

Proceeds from this fundraiser are dedicated to expanding accessible services, and educational and cultural programming at your library.

How doth the public library
Keep serving without sales,
And offer books and so much more
On such a growing scale!
How cheerfully librarians grin,
And thank you all because
We can invite each person in,
And you support the cause!
