In the Western Maryland Room through June 29, 2017

In honor of the 100th anniversary of World War I, an exhibit featuring oil paintings of vintage aircraft will be on display at the Fletcher Branch Library, 100 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD through June 29, 2017. The exhibit also includes World War I recruitment and war bonds posters on loan from Enoch Pratt Free Library. The exhibit is on display in the Western Maryland Room on the third floor of the Fletcher Library and is available for viewing during Western Maryland Room hours, Tuesdays, 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM; Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturdays, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

The paintings are the work of Robert Horvath, retired director of Talbot County Free Library and chairman of the board of the Norman Rockwell Museum. The paintings are on loan from the US Air Force Museum. Special thanks to Margaret Carty, executive director of the Maryland Library Association, for coordinating this exhibit in partnership with the Maryland World War I Commission.
