Capture the Flag is back!

The Alice Virginia and David W. Fletcher branch is once against a satellite location for the Capture the Flag Ethical Hacking and Cybersecurity Competition on Saturday, April 21. The competition is based out of Westminster, MD and organized by Mid-Atlantic Gigabit Innovation Collaboratory (MAGIC), a tech-based nonprofit organization.

We're looking for participants ages 13 to 20 years old with in an interest in computers (though no prior cybersecurity or hacking experience is necessary!). Up to five teams of four participants can register to represent our community and take part in the competition against teams across the state and throughout the nation.

The competing teams will use "virtual machines" that mimic regular computer operating systems to solve provided puzzles using their logic and computer savvy. The answers to these puzzles will provide the locations of hidden "flags" within the folders of the system. Points will be awarded based on the number of flags found. Coaches will be on hand to help throughout the competition.

Interested? Individuals should form a team and register here: https://goo.gl/forms/PU4HtaoHB6HGS7Ku2
