Western Maryland Regional Library, headquartered in Hagerstown, MD, is looking for an energetic and inquisitive person to join our team as a part-time Digitization Specialist. The successful candidate will be required to travel regularly throughout Maryland’s three westernmost counties.

Duties include but are not limited to:  creating a regional digitization plan based on available collections; performing digitization activities; applying metadata to digitized media; creating/maintaining a regional digitization website; and cataloging as necessary.

Candidate should have strong technical skills and aptitude.  The successful candidate will be expected to master CONTENTdm digital management software, scanning principles, equipment, and software, including high-end scanners, digital cameras, digital video equipment, and image-editing and OCR software. Knowledge of metadata and strong communications skills are a must.  Website development experience is highly desirable.

Compensation Package:  Salary range starts at $24.08 per hour, paid vacation and sick leave, 13 paid holidays
