The Washington County Free Library has a FT position opening for a Library Assistant. Applicant who will be working in the Bookmobile Department.  Monday - Friday with benefits. 

The applicant must have excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to learn how to drive a 35’ vehicle (like a school bus).  He/she must also be able to lift up to 50lbs and work as a team. He/she must drive Bookmobile, inspect vehicle daily, perform basic maintenance and schedule maintenance. Duties include:  Bookmobile, outreach service, assisting patrons with register patrons,  charging, discharging library materials, data entry, shelving books and materials, remove or repair damaged books or  and other duties as assigned. Required skills, knowledge and abilities: Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public.  HS graduate or equivalent, valid driver’s license and proof of a clean driving record will be required.  Previous library experience preferred but not a requirement.  Candidate must have excellent direct-contact customer service skills; demonstrate interest in libraries; the ability to work individually and with others.
